Jelena is a theatre director, a playwright, a writer, a poet, a performer, art manager, trainer and educator, editor and publisher, a worker in culture and informing. Born in 1973. in Belgrade, she graduated in theatre directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in 2001. Final year student on the Faculty of Political Sciences, class of diplomacy. She is a playwright with Bitef theatre and has been an art manager of Bitef festival since 2001.
Together with Milena Bogavac she is a founder of DMS, a drama mental studio, a non-formal theatre troop which primarily works with the research of archetypical content in modern society and the development of poetical performance. She also works in education. Jelena held a number of cycles of lectures on the topics of the history of theatre, practical dramaturgy, theatre in education, and definition of the practice of the contemporary experimental and engaged theatre.
Jelena directed more than 40 plays. She has been awarded for directing in the festivals in Great Britain, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Serbia. She has a part in the play A Suspicious Person, director: Vojislav Arsić.
