Milena Minja Bogavac is a writer, a playwright, a theatre director, a screenwriter, a poet, and a worker in the field of culture. She was born in Belgrade in 1982. She graduated dramaturgy from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. Her plays are translated to numerous languages, are a part of anthologies of contemporary drama, have been performed in Serbian and European theatres, and were presented on relevant international festivals. She published two poem collections, a collection of short stories and a novel. She received numerous awards and acknowledgements some of which are: «Borislav Mihajlović- Mihiz», for dramatic work; «Josip Kuludnžić», for «exceptional achievement in the field of theatre», «Anđelka Milić» for a piece of art which uses feminist theories, acknowledgement for Polifon author (Bitef, 2015), two yearly awards of Malo pozorište «Duško Radović» and others. She works with Jelena Bogavac as a part of Drama Mental Studio troop. With Vojkan Arsic, she worked on a few plays and on the development of the method of collective authorship called “Theatre as youth work”. She wrote a screenplay for the movie “Next to me” with Stevan Filipovic. Milena directed a few plays with young people, as well as documentary play “Balerine” (in the production of SNP and SKCNS). She holds workshops dealing with documentary theatre, drama in education, writing and performing of slam poetry, as well as the development of drama text. Milena also teaches dramaturgy and scenario in the middle art school Artemida.
